Let me tell you a little tale on how I met a stray lynx. I was walking down towards the woods when I spotted something limping. I was afraid at first, thinking that the animal would attack me since he was way bigger than me even if he was still very young. I hid from him though watched him walk around. He seemed very unsure about where he was going. He was only walking anywhere his legs would bring him.

I followed behind in secret, trying to avoid being spotted. When night came, I saw him collapse onto a fallen log. I stayed hidden to see if he would get back up but when he didn't, I walked slowly towards him, hoping he won't attack me and was pretending that he was out cold. I was now at his side. He was panting in pain. I looked all over his body, trying to see the wound in which was making him limp.

I then spotted a small arrow that was jabbed on his side. It seemed like he tried to break it out of him with force but it doesn't seem like it helped him much. I gently went over to the small broken arrow on his side and grabbed the arrow. I might've made a mistake because as I did so, he quickly woke up from his little nap and almost clawed me which made me let go and fall flat on my back. I quickly sat up and backed up some more. He glared at me with his big blue eyes.

We stared at each other for a bit before he looked back at his wound then looked at my hand that had a bit of his blood on it. He looked back at my face as if he was studying me. I sat there, unsure of what to do. He blinked while looking at me then laid his head back down to rest. He was still watching me so it made me a bit uneasy but I backed up a bit till my back hit a tree. I got a bit more comfy and watched him. He watched as a moved but as I got to my new spot, he looked away and analyzed all around to see if there was any predators around before closing his eyes. I kept watching him until I started to doze off.

I woke up a couple hours later I think. I opened my eyes to see that the lynx was gone. I gasped and looked around for him. He couldn't have gone too far with his injury. I got up quickly and looked around for him. I then spotted something on the ground. It was blood. Seemed like he made a track of blood as he walked. I quickly followed the blood trail, hoping he was ok. I couldn't stand to see an animal hurt, especially for a feline.

As I was walking through the forest, still following the trail, I heard a loud howl which sent shivers down my spine. I stood in place, trying to figure out how close those wolves might be. Doesn't seem too far which scared me. I then had a scary thought. They might be after that injured lynx! I quickly ran, following the trail until I got to an open field. The blood trail seemed to have gotten longer as if the blood wasn't leaking as much as before. He must've ran since I saw wolf tracks on the same trail as the blood.

I kept running until I saw the lynx surrounded by the pack of wolves. The lynx stood tall, not showing any fear to the pack. The leader of the pack was a big, mighty black wolf. He was quiet at the lynx but was showing his sharp teeth without hesitation. The lynx on the other hand, was hissing and roaring with all his might, swiping at them with his sharp claws, clawing a couple of the pack followers to show he's not to be messed with.

As I was almost to them, the pack leader lounged at the lynx and bit him on his neck. I heard the lynx roar in agony but tried to get the wolf off him. I ran over, screaming. I wasn't about to let that wolf hurt that lynx any more than he already is! My scream seemed to have caught their attention which for the lynx, used it as an advantage to attack the leader and get him to let go. He then swiped a couple of the other wolves, showing them who's boss. The pack leader seemed furious at me and ran quickly to get me. I stopped in my tracks and froze in place, terrified of the wolf leader.

I closed my eyes and braced for what was going to happen next. I heard a loud yelp from the wolf and as I opened my eyes, I saw the lynx had pounced onto the wolf and was attacking him with full force before getting off of him and sparing his life. The lynx stood in front of me, protecting me from the pack. He then let out a loud roar which scared off some of the pack followers. The leader on the other hand, stood there, watching us with his piercing black eyes before turning around slowly and leaving with the rest of his pack. I watched them walk away and disappear in the forest. When I looked back down at the lynx, he still had his back turned towards me. I saw him stand there without moving a muscle before collapsing to the ground.

I ran over to him and kneeled over to see if he was still awake. His eyes were closed but he was panting from the pain. I looked at his body and he still had that small broken arrow on his side and his now new wounds on his neck and a couple other smaller bite marks on his front paw and back leg. I gently put my hand on his cheek, stroking it gently. "I won't leave you like this. I'll find a way to make those wounds and that arrow go away." are the words I spoke to him. I wanted to help him but I wasn't sure how I could do that. I saw his blue eyes open slightly. He looked at me, still panting but he didn't wave his paw at me like before.

I could see that in his eyes, he was grateful for my distraction I did to save him. I gently rubbed his cheek a bit, going up to his ear then to the top of his head. His eyes closed and his panting became more relaxed. "Can you walk? We could go somewhere with more cover and I could go find some supplies to bandage your wounds." I stopped petting him and waited for a slight response. He opened his eyes again then slowly started to move. I stood back a bit, ready to aid him if needed. He stood up but seemed barely able to stand. He started to walk though had a more dramatic limp than before.

I walked by his side, helping him keep his balance whenever I saw him tip over too much on one side. We got to the forest. We finally found a nice place near a small lake and some soft grass to lay in. I helped him walk over to the long grass, placing it to be more comfy for him then he laid down in it. I told him that I wouldn't be too long and he just looked at me with his blue eyes before I ran off into the forest, looking for some food for him and make something to be able to carry the water to him.

It's been a little while that I have been gone. He might be wondering if I just left him there to die...I hope he didn't just get back up and leave with those thoughts...I came back to see him still at the same spot as before. He hadn't moved a muscle since he first laid there. I saw his eyes look at me then at the dead rabbit I had in my hands. I walked gently over to him. "Here, I got you a rabbit for you and if you like, I also got some berries too." I said to him.

I put the rabbit near his mouth so he didn't have to move too much. I put the berries near the rabbit too before going over to the lake with this big leaf I grabbed. I filled it with water and brought it over to the lynx. "Want some water first?" I held the water near him. He stared at it for a bit before slightly getting a better position and started drinking the water from the leaf. He drank with his eyes closed. Seemed like he really enjoyed the fresh, cool water. He drank it all up and with the last lick, he licked his nose and made a couple drops of water hit my arm, making me giggle.

I put the leaf down then gently picked up the rabbit. "Here, I'll help you since you can't move too much and I'd rather you didn't move all that much too." He looked at me for a second then moved a bit closer, taking a bite into the rabbit and eating slowly. I avoided looking at him eating the rabbit in my hands since I'm not really too into seeing animals being ripped open but this was to help the lynx.

He ate everything besides the two ends that I was holding in my hands. I put the bunny down and brought over some berries. "I'm not sure if lynxes eat berries but it's worth giving it a try right?" He looked at the bright coloured berries a moment before taking a couple from my hands. After he ate a few, he licked my hand. I think it was to thank me for all I've done for him. I smiled at him and put the rest of the berries down in the other leaf I had for them. "Now...For those injuries..." He looked at his body then at me before laying his head back down, as if giving me permission to examine his wounds.

I slowly approached him and checked his wounds. Some were deeper than others but my main concern was that stupid arrow in his side. Seemed like it was going towards his heart from the angle of it. I wonder what really happened to him...He might've been attacked by a person. Hope that person got what they deserved for putting him up with all this pain...I went off to get more water and came back. I lightly and gently washed his open wounds with the clean water. He didn't flinch. I then took my big hoodie off and took out my little camping tool that had a knife in it. I popped the knife out and started to cut my hoodie into little parts to have something to wrap around his wounds. As I had brought the knife out, his eyes opened quickly and dilated, staring at it then at me as if I was going to hurt him.

I looked at him and said "I'm not going to hurt you silly, I'm just getting some bandages from my clothes, no worries ok." I kept staring at the knife as I cut more of my hoodie. After I was done, I took the strips and started wrapping them gently around on the injuries and tied them not too tightly but not too tight. I did that for all his wounds besides his arrow wound. I was all done and put my camping tool away which made the lynx more relaxed. I walked over to the lake to wash my hands from the blood on them. I came back and sat next to him.

That arrow is really driving me nuts. As I went over to almost grab it again, I heard something and stopped moving. I listened closely and heard something that sounded like a ball rolling around in something. I paused and looked around before I looked back down at the lynx and noticed that he was purring with his eyes closed. I smiled softly at him and gently petted his back which made him purr a bit louder. His purring seemed to make everything around us more peaceful. I felt very calm for being next to a lynx that almost clawed me the first time we met.

I gently poked his cheek which caught his attention and looked at me. I wanted to ask him what happened before he got hit with the arrow but I knew it was a bit stupid though I had to ask. "Hey um...I was kinda wondering, and I know you won't be able to answer but...What happened to you with the arrow on your side?" He looked in my eyes a second then looked at the arrow. He looked away and closed his eyes again, taking a deep breath through his nose and letting it out just the same like it was a sigh. "I'm sorry...I shouldn't have asked..." I looked away, looking at the water moving gently with the gentle breeze. I didn't mean to upset him...I sighed before looking back at the arrow then getting up to go over to the water again and sat down.

I stared at my reflection. Man, I must look so bad to this lynx...Even after all the things I've done for him, I'm still a human, just like the one who probably hurt him too...I sighed again and closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I wish he wasn't hurt so bad with that arrow...I opened my eyes again. Man, I'm too much into my thoughts. I looked back at my reflection when I saw the lynx's reflection next to mine. I jumped, startled from seeing it. I looked next to me and saw him laying next to me then laid his head on my lap. "Didn't I tell you not to move?" He had his eyes closed. He didn't seem to listen to what I just said. He's such an odd lynx.

I put my hand on his neck though not on his injury. I could feel him purring loudly. I looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting dark. I wonder if anyone's wondering where I am...I mean, I don't think they'd believe me if I'd say I found an injured lynx in the forest and helped it from a pack of wolves and such. "Huh...Man it's been a really long day today..." I rubbed my face with my other hand and sighs once more.

Man, I'm exhausted. "Come on, you should go back to your bed mister so you can get all better." The lynx didn't open his eyes and just pressed his head a bit on my lap. "Hey, whatcha doing?" He finally looked at me and then looked at his arrow. Is he trying to say something about that arrow? "What about it?" He looked at my hand then the arrow. Is he letting me grab that arrow? "You want me to try and pull that out?..." He looked at me a long time then nodded. I hesitated a bit before slowly bringing my hand over to the arrow. I gently grabbed it and I felt his body tense up next to me.

I took a breath and said "I'm about to try and pull it out ok...You ready?" He closed his eyes and nodded again. I took another breath then pulled on the arrow with force. It moved a bit out, I'm not about to let it just sit there. I pulled some more and I could feel it get out of his side. I brought the arrow over to see what it was. As I looked at it, I noticed the lynx breath with more ease now. He looked at it too.

The tip of the arrow was a bright silver, I wonder why...I hesitated a bit before breaking the tip off and cleaning it in the water. The lynx watched me as I was looking at the arrow tip in my hand. It had a couple letters on it. Seemed like initials or something. I looked back to the wound where the arrow was and it was gone. Odd...I looked down at the lynx and spoke gently. "Better?" He looked at me and seemed to be smiling now. He got up slowly and stood next to me, as if he was waiting for me to come with him.

"Bed time huh? Ok fine, you win." I got up and followed him to the grassy bed. He laid down first and I sat down next to him after he was all comfy. I laid down not too close to him on my side, having my back facing his stomach. "Night lynx, hope you heal up quickly." I closed my eyes. As night came down, it got way colder. Sucks I cut up my hoodie up. I would've been warm for this little breeze. I started to shiver but then I felt something warm and soft wrap itself over my body. I look down over my arm and saw the lynx's paw there. I giggled and backed up a bit to be closer to the lynx for warmth. I fell asleep pretty quickly.

I woke up in the morning. I opened my eyes and didn't see the lynx anymore. Where'd he go? I quickly sat up and looked around. Did he leave during the night? He probably did...I sigh. I should've known...I lay back down and look up at the sky. I stare at the clouds for a long bit before I hear something coming from the forest. I sat up and looked over to see the lynx coming back with a big leaf in his mouth. Are those berries?

He came over to me and sat down in front of my, laying the leaf down in front of me. "Are those for me?" I asked, looked at them. I looked up at him and he looked at me, having a little sly smile on his mouth. I smiled back at him. "You really are something aren't ya?" I hugged him tightly in my around and rubbed my cheek on his. "I won't ever forget you blue eyed lynx," I heard him purring in satisfaction and we ate the berries together and went off on our path, side by side. The end.
This was a long story I wrote for my big bro thelynxwarrior since he was upset yesterday and so I wanted to cheer him up and wrote him this ;w; Took me maybe 2 hours to write everything? Idk but hope you guys enjoy reading this TTwTT Not like many will...</3
